With no tax increase, any taxpayer can take advantage of the opportunity provided by the 2006 Italian Finance Bill and donate 0.5% of their taxes to Oliver Twist.

Using the “5 per 1000” tool, the State gives up a share of its tax revenue and donates part of the sum (owed by tax payers anyway) to non-profit social organisations, voluntary associations and research institutes working for the good of society. Oliver Twist is one of the organisations that can benefit from this choice, being permitted by the Italian Inland Revenue Office to share in the available funds.

Taxpayers can contribute to projects aimed at children and teenagers in serious hardship simply through their annual tax return.

· Those using the >Modello 730 income declaration form and the Modello Unico income declaration form should sign the “Scheda per la scelta di destinazione del 5 per mille dell’IRPEF” (form for choosing to donate 0.5% of income tax) and indicate Oliver Twist’s tax code:

· For those not submitting an income declaration, having only income from employment or a pension (CUD income declaration form), donating “5 per 1000” to Oliver Twist is very simple. Indeed, the CUD form should, in this case, be submitted in a sealed envelope, marked “Scelta per la destinazione del 5 per mille dell’IRPEF” (Decision to donate “5 per 1000” of income tax), to a post office, bank or CAF (Italian tax assistance centre).
