Mission and areas of action
Fondazione Oliver Twist Onlus is a non-profit holding foundation established by Kairos to operate in the social field by setting up and supporting projects designed to help minors in difficult circumstances.
Specifically, Oliver Twist operates in the following areas using different methods:
- directly running projects for the prevention of: social exclusion, dropping out of school, learning disorders and the risk of delinquency;
- supporting dependable non-profit organisations by implementing specific projects designed to tackle abandonment, ill-treatment and abuse of minors.
firstly, therefore, Oliver Twist’s activities involve devising, setting up and supporting its own projects. Secondly, however, it selects dependable partners for the co-planning and economic support of effective projects.
The objective, in both cases, is to create or improve services and centres to accommodate and support minors in difficulty. To give opportunities to those who, due to no fault of their own, have not been offered one.
Oliver Twist operates throughout Italy. It is currently focusing its efforts on two Italian regions: Lombardy and Campania.
