The recipients
This educational program is offered to a school in Quarto Oggiaro, a deprived neighborhood in
Milan. The program uses a workshop on recyclable materials to build strong relationships between participants and promote an unconventional learning approach. The program takes advantage of the opportunities offered by the opening of a
ReMida Center – run by Muba –in
Milan’s Bovisa neighborhood in the next school year.
The
ReMida Center will be focused on the creative use of recyclable industrial scrapped materials through educational programs for children and families. Our program consists of a workshop of 6 days spaced in the school year for each of the 6 participating classes. The workshop is held partly at the
ReMida Center and partly at the school . The teachers of the classes involved in the program receive
training and support throughout the school year. The program’s goal is to introduce a creative approach which facilitates learning by children with difficult background or learning difficulties. A further goal is to build a community of educators, children and families, and strong relationships around a common project. Results will be closely monitored along the way by a team of supervisors in order to identify good practices and participatory models which can be effectively replicated in the future.
Our partner
MUBA is a leading organization in the development and dissemination of informal education. It has been the first to organize first-rate exhibitions for children that are unique for their size and the number of visitors they attract, in Italy and abroad. Since 1998 MUBA has been present with its exhibitions at Milan’s Triennale, which is only the first stop, as the exhibitions are then taken to Rome, Naples and to other cities in Italy and abroad. Muma is the only organization in Italy specializing in learning-by-playing and interactive exhibitions for children, but its activities are not confined within the domestic boundaries and its work is broadly recognized around the world.
