In 2009, the K4C grants funded two sets of programs. First, 4 organizations whose project was awarded a K4C grant in 2008 were given the opportunity to submit - through their Kairos colleagues - an application for a K4C grant again in 2009. These organizations are: “Il Cammino” (Turin), “COMIN” (Milan), “Occupazione e Solidarietà” (Bari), “Progetto Uomo” (Naples). These 4 entities were selected for the successful outcome of their K4C 2008 project and their strong fit with the activities promoted by the Oliver Twist Foundation.

Second, the same 4 organizations were given the opportunity to have their children take part, at no charge, in a traveling arts workshop in the city where they respectively work.  Over 140 children in Milan, Turin, Naples and Bari participated in the workshop, named “A caccia di stelle” (Star Hunt), held by the professional educators of Pane Arte e Marmellata (Bread, Arts and Jam), a specialist organization in the field. All participating children had the opportunity to create their own ‘artwork’ focused on the themes of the sky, the stars and the planets. The children’s artworks were then displayed in an exhibition held at Kairos offices. Below, some pictures taken at the workshop and the exhibition posters. The remaining funds were used to back two projects submitted by two new organizations from Rome and Milan.
